Product description

Stübben STEELtec Weymouth Snaffle Bit

Stübben STEELtec bits are selected with the utmost care and manufactured from the finest materials. We would like to introduce you to the Stübben STEELtec Weymouth snaffle bit from the Stübben STEELtec range in more detail today:

The Stübben STEELtec Weymouth snaffle bit is made of stainless steel and equipped with smaller sides as a bradoon for Weymouth bits. The mouthpiece of this bit is single-jointed.

Cheekpiece

Mouthpiece

single-jointed

A single-jointed bit has one hinge point, which exerts less pressure on the tongue than a double-jointed mouthpiece. A single-jointed mouthpiece primarily exerts pressure on the bars and the sides of the tongue and can also affect the palate. The single-jointed mouthpiece is the most popular mouthpiece on the market. Weymouth Snaffle

The Weymouth snaffle is used in combination with a Weymouth bit. It is available in single and double-jointed mouthpiece variations. The difference to other snaffles lies in the rings (e.g. eggbutt rings), which are significantly smaller than the rings of normal bits. The Weymouth snaffle is usually chosen half to a full cm larger than the Weymouth bit, as the Weymouth bit is a solid bar and the Weymouth snaffle is jointed.

Bit Material

Stainless steel

The most common material for bits is stainless steel. Stainless steel comes in different compositions and consists of steel and various metals. Steel, in turn, is iron that has been alloyed with carbon.

To obtain stainless steel, the steel is mixed with various metals to form different alloys. The most commonly used alloy for stainless steel bits consists of steel, chromium, and nickel.
