Bit Material

Sweet Copper

The sweet taste of Sweet Copper bits leads to high acceptance and increased chewing activity and salivation. Sweet Copper is a high-quality, nickel-free alloy with 89% copper content and high strength.

Manufacturer Information

Mouthpiece

Single jointed

The single jointed mouthpiece has a hinge in the middle, which puts less pressure on the tongue than a double jointed mouthpiece. A single jointed mouthpiece primarily applies pressure to the bars and sides of the tongue and can also affect the palate. Alongside the double jointed mouthpiece, the single jointed mouthpiece is certainly the most common of all mouthpieces.

Cheekpiece

Pelham

The Pelham is a popular bit with short or long shanks. When the reins are taken up, the bit acts on the mouth, lower jaw, and poll. Depending on the leverage of the shanks, a varying degree of immediate bit angle can be achieved in the mouth. Possible use for horses that have difficulty going through the poll, for "hot" horses, or for horses that need clear action in critical situations. The Pelham should only be used by experienced riders.
