Product description

Stübben STEELtec Olive-Head Weymouth Bit, single jointed

The Stübben STEELtec team continuously works on innovative bits to further optimize their design and function. Today, we would like to introduce you to the Stübben STEELtec Olive-Head Weymouth Bit, single jointed, from the Stübben STEELtec range:

The Stübben STEELtec Olive-Head Weymouth Bit, single jointed, is made of stainless steel and features smaller side pieces as a Weymouth bit for double bridles. The mouthpiece of this bit is single jointed.

Side piece

Mouthpiece

single jointed

The Stübben STEELtec Olive-Head Weymouth Bit, single jointed, has a joint in the middle, which exerts less pressure on the tongue than a double jointed mouthpiece. A single jointed mouthpiece primarily applies pressure to the bars and sides of the tongue and can also affect the palate. A single jointed mouthpiece is a standard mouthpiece and very widely used. Weymouth Bit

The Weymouth bit is used in combination with a curb bit. It is available with single and double jointed mouthpiece variations. The difference to other snaffles lies in the rings (e.g., olive-head rings), which are significantly smaller than the rings of normal bits. The Weymouth bit is usually chosen half to a full cm larger than the curb bit, as the curb bit is a straight bar and the Weymouth bit is jointed.

Bit Material

Stainless Steel

The most common material for bits is stainless steel. Stainless steel comes in various compositions and consists of steel and different metals. Steel, in turn, is iron that has been alloyed with carbon.

To obtain stainless steel, the steel is mixed with various metals to form different alloys. The most commonly used alloy for stainless steel bits consists of steel, chromium, and nickel.
