Product description

Stübben STEELtec Olive Head Snaffle Bridle, Single Jointed

The Stübben STEELtec team continuously works on innovative bits to further optimize the design and effectiveness of their bits. Today, we would like to introduce you to the Stübben STEELtec Olive Head Snaffle Bridle, single jointed, from the Stübben STEELtec range in more detail:

The Stübben STEELtec Olive Head Snaffle Bridle, single jointed, is made of stainless steel and equipped with smaller side pieces as an under-bridle for Weymouth bits. The mouthpiece of this bit is single jointed.

Cheekpiece

Mouthpiece

single jointed

The Stübben STEELtec Olive Head Snaffle Bridle, single jointed, has a joint in the middle, which puts less pressure on the tongue than a double-jointed mouthpiece. A single-jointed mouthpiece primarily exerts pressure on the bars and sides of the tongue and can also affect the palate. The single-jointed mouthpiece is certainly the most common of all mouthpieces, alongside the double-jointed mouthpiece. Under-bridle

The under-bridle is used in combination with a Weymouth bit. It is available in single and double jointed mouthpiece variations. The difference to other snaffles lies in the rings (e.g., olive head rings), which are significantly smaller than the rings of normal bits. The under-bridle is usually chosen half to a full cm larger than the Weymouth bit, as the Weymouth bit is a straight bar and the under-bridle is jointed.

Bit material

Stainless steel

The most common material for bits is stainless steel. Stainless steel comes in different compositions and consists of steel and various metals. Steel, in turn, is iron that has been alloyed with carbon.

To obtain stainless steel, the steel is mixed with various metals to form different alloys. The most commonly used alloy for stainless steel bits consists of steel, chromium, and nickel.
