Product description

Stübben STEELtec Easy Control Bridoon Double Jointed

The Stübben STEELtec development team continuously works on innovative bits to further optimize the design and effectiveness of bits. Today we would like to introduce you to the Stübben STEELtec Easy Control Bridoon Double Jointed from the Stübben STEELtec range in more detail:

The Stübben STEELtec Easy Control Bridoon Double Jointed bit is made of stainless steel and features smaller side pieces as a bridoon for Weymouth bits. The mouthpiece of this bit is double jointed.

Cheek Piece

Mouthpiece

double jointed

A double-jointed mouthpiece is a very common mouthpiece. This mouthpiece has two joints, is more shaped towards the mouth and lies a little looser in the horse's mouth. This bit exerts pressure on the tongue, the bars and the corners of the mouth. This bit should not be used on horses with narrow lower jaws. The hinge points can press on the bars, which can lead to sores. Compared to a single-jointed bit, this bit exerts more pressure on the tongue. Bridoon

The bridoon is used in combination with a Weymouth bit. It is available in single and double jointed mouthpiece variations. The difference to other snaffles lies in the rings (e.g. eggbutt rings), which are significantly smaller than the rings of normal bits. The bridoon is usually chosen half to a full cm larger than the Weymouth bit, as the Weymouth bit is a solid bar and the bridoon is jointed.

Bit Material

stainless steel

The most common material for bits is stainless steel. Stainless steel comes in different compositions and consists of steel and various metals. Steel, in turn, is iron that has been alloyed with carbon.

To obtain stainless steel, the steel is mixed with various metals to form different alloys. The most commonly used alloy for stainless steel bits consists of steel, chromium and nickel.
