The Stübben STEELtec Baucher Snaffle Bit, double jointed, is made of stainless steel and equipped with so-called Baucher or Fillis cheekpieces. The mouthpiece of this bit is double jointed.

The Stübben STEELtec Baucher Snaffle Bit, double jointed, is a Baucher bit, also called a B-snaffle, Fillis or Fillet bit. This bit is suitable for horses that are sensitive to poll pressure. It lies very still in the mouth and particularly encourages horses that carry their heads very high to lower them and become lighter in the poll. The B-snaffle is very similar to a Pelham in the upper part of the bit, because, like with a Pelham, the cheekpiece is buckled in the upper, small ring. However, the rein does not act on the bit via a lever and therefore exerts hardly any pressure on the poll.

Double jointed mouthpieces are suitable for many horses. This mouthpiece has two joints, is more shaped towards the mouth and lies a little looser in the horse's mouth. This bit exerts pressure on the tongue, the bars and the corners of the mouth. Caution with narrow lower jaws! The hinge points can press on the bars, which can lead to sores. The double jointed bit exerts more pressure on the tongue compared to single jointed bits.
