Product description

Sprenger WH Ultra Weymouth Snaffle Bit, Double Jointed, Sensogan, 16mm

The mouthpiece has a thickness of 16 millimeters at its thickest point, making it a moderately thick mouthpiece.

Comparative values: normal warmbloods 16 - 18mm, ponies rather 10 - 14mm, thoroughbreds 12 - 16mm and especially large warmbloods, cold-bloods and Shire Horses rather 18mm and larger.

Weymouth snaffle bits usually have a thickness of 12mm to 14mm.

When choosing the bit thickness and size, pay attention to the anatomical conditions of the horse's mouth. You can use your fingers to test how much space there is between the tongue and palate.

The Sprenger bit assortment provides soft but effective impulses for better communication between rider and horse. Today we would like to introduce you to the Sprenger WH Ultra Weymouth Snaffle Bit, Double Jointed, Sensogan, 16mm from the Sprenger range in more detail:

The Sprenger WH Ultra Weymouth Snaffle Bit, Double Jointed, Sensogan, 16mm is made of Sensogan and equipped with smaller side parts as a bridoon for Weymouth bits. The mouthpiece of this bit is double-jointed.

Mouthpiece

double jointed

The double-jointed mouthpiece is one of the most common mouthpieces on the market. This mouthpiece has two joints, is more shaped towards the mouth and lies a little looser in the horse's mouth. This bit exerts pressure on the tongue, the bars and the corners of the mouth. This bit should not be used with narrow lower jaws. The joints can press on the bars if the lower jaw is narrow. Compared to a single-jointed bit, this bit exerts more pressure on the tongue. Weymouth Snaffle Bit

The Weymouth snaffle bit is used in combination with a Weymouth bridle. It is available in single and double jointed mouthpiece variations. The difference to other snaffles lies in the rings (e.g. eggbutt rings), which are significantly smaller than the rings of normal bits. The Weymouth snaffle is usually chosen half to a full centimeter larger than the Weymouth bit, as the Weymouth bit is a straight bar and the Weymouth snaffle is jointed.

Bit Material

Sensogan Copper, manganese and zinc are the components of Sprenger's Sensogan alloy. The trace element manganese has a positive effect on the horse's metabolism and stress reduction. The combination of copper and manganese leads to a dosed oxidation process that promotes chewing activity. Sprenger's Sensogan bits are characterized by high compatibility.
