Compared to a single jointed bit, this bit applies more pressure to the tongue.

The Sprenger KK Ultra B-Snaffle Aurigan double jointed 16mm is a Baucher bit, also known as a B-Snaffle, Fillis, or Fillet bit. This bit is suitable for horses that are sensitive to poll pressure. It lies very quietly in the mouth and particularly encourages horses that carry their heads very high to lower them and become lighter in the poll. The B-snaffle strongly resembles a Pelham in the upper part of the bit, because, as with the Pelham, the cheekpiece is buckled in the upper, small ring.
