Product description

Sprenger Dynamic RS Sensogan Snaffle Bridoon with Eggbutt Cheeks, Double Jointed, 14mm

The mouthpiece has a thickness of 14 millimeters at its widest point. It is therefore a medium-thick mouthpiece.

For comparison, the standard thickness for a normal warmblood is between 16mm and 18mm. For ponies, this value is more like 10mm to 14mm. Very large warmbloods, draft horses, and Shire horses usually need a bit thicker than 18mm. A thickness of 12mm is usually suitable for a pony.

Bridoons for Weymouth bits usually have a thickness of 12mm to 14mm.

When choosing the bit thickness and size, pay attention to the anatomical conditions of the horse's mouth. You can test with your fingers how much space there is between the tongue and the palate.

Sprenger bits are selected with the greatest care and made from the best materials. Today we would like to introduce you to the Sprenger Dynamic RS Sensogan Snaffle Bridoon with Eggbutt Cheeks, Double Jointed, 14mm from the Sprenger range:

The Sprenger Dynamic RS Sensogan Snaffle Bridoon with Eggbutt Cheeks, Double Jointed, 14mm is made of Sensogan and features smaller side pieces as a bridoon for Weymouth bits. The mouthpiece of this bit is double-jointed.

Mouthpiece

Double-jointed

The double-jointed mouthpiece is one of the most common mouthpieces on the market. This mouthpiece has two joints, is shaped more towards the mouth and lies a little looser in the horse's mouth. This bit exerts pressure on the tongue, the bars and the corners of the mouth. Be careful with narrow lower jaws! The joints can press on the bars with a narrow lower jaw. Compared to a single-jointed bit, this bit exerts more pressure on the tongue. Bridoon

The bridoon is used in combination with a Weymouth bit. It is available in single and double-jointed mouthpiece variations. The difference to other snaffle bits lies in the rings (e.g. eggbutt rings), which are significantly smaller than the rings of normal bits. The bridoon is usually chosen half to a full cm larger than the Weymouth bit, as the Weymouth bit is a curb and the bridoon is jointed.

Bit Material

Sensogan

The Sensogan material mix consists of copper, manganese, and zinc. The trace element manganese has a positive effect on the horse's metabolism and stress reduction. The combination of copper and manganese results in a dosed oxidation process that promotes chewing activity. Sprenger's Sensogan bits are characterized by high compatibility.
