Product description
Passier abs Dressage Saddle
The abs dressage saddle impresses with a comfortable riding experience – and its perfect fit, even for horses with challenging saddle positions.
For horses with less defined shoulders, the saddle often slides forward despite a good fit, restricting the horse's movement in the shoulder area.
The abs dressage saddle features a special front girth strap that helps keep the saddle in the correct position – effectively preventing the saddle from sliding forward onto the shoulder.
Thanks to the saddle panel for increased wither freedom, it is also particularly horse-friendly!
The saddle is available with sparkling Premium Crystals and design variations on the cantle.

Passier Saddle Configurator
Here you can configure your desired Passier saddle individually according to your wishes. We will show you which features you can customize.
Saddle Tree
Firstly: You cannot choose the saddle tree for every saddle, as this depends on the saddle model. The heart of every saddle is the saddle tree. Its development and continuous improvement are therefore at the forefront for every saddle manufacturer. Passier uses two different saddle trees, the PS saddle tree and the plastic saddle tree (K saddle tree). Both offer numerous advantages.
Due to their high flexibility in the longitudinal axis, both saddle trees can move with the horse in turns – the spine remains free. The narrow waist of the saddle trees allows riders to sit deep in the saddle. The adjustable head irons ensure that Passier saddles can be adapted to any horse even later. The short head iron branches ensure that the horse's shoulder has particularly free movement. Thus, both saddle trees guarantee maximum horse-friendliness.
There are basically two different types of saddle trees at Passier:
K-Tree or Plastic Tree
The K-saddle tree is made of an elastomer, a material that cannot break under normal treatment and thus meets the highest demands. Passier saddles with a K-saddle tree are available in five sizes from 16" to 18".

Color
Passier saddles are available in Black, Havana, and Teak.
Important to know: Genuine leather is a natural product. This means that each leather hide can absorb dye differently. Therefore, various color nuances within one color are possible. These give Passier saddles, bridles, and accessories their unmistakable, natural, and elegant look.
For all colors, the greatest possible colorfastness and color stability are paramount. With proper care, it is ensured that the colors remain consistent.
Passier offers the following colors:
- Black
- Havana (dark brown)
- Teak (light brown)
Leather Finish
Leather is a high-quality natural product. At Passier, great importance is placed on the highest quality of raw materials. Therefore, only the best European leather is used in Passier products. After strict quality control, the ideal cut is chosen from each leather hide to ensure the highest quality of the products. Small visible scars, insect bites, or neck wrinkles emphasize the naturalness and sustainability of the quality leathers used. Passier products have a very long lifespan with good care and therefore often still look natural and high-quality even after decades.
Cowhide Leather
This high-quality saddle leather is used for all saddles with a K-saddle tree. It is a very durable and long-lasting leather that has been used by Passier in consistently high quality for over ten years. Cowhide leather is available in Black, Havana, and Teak.
Natural-Grip-Leather (NGL)
Natural-Grip-Leather is a very soft saddle leather with excellent grip. It is tanned with natural waxes and valuable vegetable and animal oils and is used in all Passier saddles with a PS saddle tree without doubling. Natural-Grip-Leather is available in Black and Havana. It is also available for saddles with a K-saddle tree at an extra charge,
Selloil Leather
Selloil leather is characterized by its particular softness combined with high grip. It is used as seat, knee roll, and panel leather. The special non-slip properties give riders a good hold and ensure a comfortable and secure fit of the saddle on the horse's back. Selloil leather is available in Black, Havana, and Teak.
DeLuxe Doubling
The extra-soft DeLuxe doubling ensures a particularly soft riding experience. The secret: A soft 2 mm foam rubber insert is located between the saddle flap and the soft Selloil upper leather. The result is unique: maximum grip combined with the highest comfort!

Head Iron Shape
Normal Head Iron
The head iron can be adjusted in width, even multiple times! Available in K-Tree and PS Tree.
Widened Head Iron
The widened head iron is used for horses with high, wide withers and simplifies the adjustment of the saddle. Available for saddles with a PS saddle tree.
frt-System®
The frt-System® with anatomically shaped head iron branches allows the horse's shoulder free movement. Available for saddles with a PS saddle tree.
Gullet Width
When you buy a Passier saddle from a specialist dealer, it should always have the gullet width that is optimal for your horse. Most Passier saddles are delivered with a gullet width of 27.5 cm, so this can be described as a "standard size". However, saddles with a gullet width of 26.5 cm, i.e. slightly narrower than standard, with a gullet width of 28.5 cm, i.e. slightly wider than standard, and with a gullet width of 29.5 cm, i.e. extra wide, are also common. In addition, the adjustable head iron of Passier saddles can be adjusted by a specialist in 0.5 cm increments to all widths from 23.5 cm to 32.0 cm. This guarantees the optimal width for every pony or horse! Important: Passier gullet widths are not comparable with those of other manufacturers, as Passier's head iron branches are shorter to allow the horse's shoulder particularly great freedom of movement.
- Available gullet widths: 23.5 to 32
- Standard at 27.5
Panel Options
Standard Panels
Passier saddle panels are filled with synthetic wool, which offers particular advantages: it does not absorb moisture and remains permanently elastic and soft in use, it can be processed without bumps or knots, and it has a very high resilience. This makes Passier panels particularly elastic and horse-friendly.
"The Lifter" Panels
The optimal saddle panel for horses with high withers and a deep back (sloping from the croup to the back), where more panel height is required in the rear area. "The Lifter" saddle panel, with its short, round shape, quickly leaves the horse's back at the rear and thus cannot press.
Front Panel Wedge
A front panel wedge allows for more padding volume in the front area of the saddle. The use of a front panel wedge is therefore particularly suitable for horses with hollows, as these can be very well compensated for.
Panel Height
Flat, medium, high panel wedge - Due to the rear panel wedge, the saddle panel has an enlarged contact surface and a very good fit, making subsequent adjustments easier to implement. Starting from the medium panel wedge height, a flat panel wedge is approx. 1 cm flatter, a high panel wedge is approx. 1 cm higher.
Saddle Tree Options
Queen-Special Solution
The special recess at the front in the pubic area under the soft seat mattress provides lasting pressure relief and a heavenly soft sitting feeling. Available for all saddles with a PS saddle tree.
Cantle opened by 15° wider
This cantle offers more space and freedom of movement in the saddle, with the same seat size. This means that for horses with short backs, a whole seat size smaller can be chosen! Available for all dressage saddles with a PS saddle tree.
Girth System
Passier offers various girthing systems. In general: every girthing system is available for every saddle. Attaching an additional girth strap for conversion to a point billet is possible at any time without extra charge. An additional third billet for dressage saddles and an additional front girth strap for jumping saddles are available at an extra charge.

Custom-made items are also available at an extra charge. It is possible, upon request, to equip all saddle models with Velcro thigh blocks.
In the configurator, you can choose between the standard thigh block for the saddle model (see pictures) and an individual thigh block. If you opt for an individual thigh block, we will contact you after your order for the details.
Almost all thigh blocks can also be ordered as Velcro thigh blocks at an extra charge.
