When working or in hot weather, horses regulate their body temperature by sweating. Sweating not only leads to fluid loss through evaporation but also to the loss of vital body salts, particularly sodium, potassium, calcium, and magnesium. If these body salts (known as electrolytes) are not replaced, it can lead to fatigue. Electro Lytes is an easy-to-use liquid designed to replace the four essential body salts that can be lost through exercise, sweating, or hot weather. Simply add to feed or dissolve in drinking water. For horses in heavy work or during periods of extreme heat, feed the more concentrated electro salts. Always ensure clean, fresh water is available.
