Why Bamboo Shield?
As we focus on sustainability, we wanted to develop a new green technology that everyone knows about.
Bamboo is the fastest growing plant in the world, which has enormous tensile strength, prevents the penetration of sharp objects and is antibacterial.
The tendon boots consist of a strong TPU shell with multiple ventilation holes in the tendon area and a larger triangular mesh ventilation.
The tendon area is reinforced with our bamboo shield to prevent penetration by sharp objects.
Below the fetlock joint, we have inserted a soft natural rubber piece to avoid any friction.
The inner part of the tendon boots is reinforced with an additional TPU layer to withstand high abrasion.
We have developed our own in-house testing machine. It drops a razor-sharp axe with a force of 80N onto a horizontal, wooden horse leg. Our Bamboo Shield tendon boots withstand this extreme testing method, which is not comparable to any impact that the horse's leg has to withstand when riding.
The tendon boots are also Rico Test and RCT certified.
Fabrics & Materials
The vegan sheepskin tendon boots Bamboo Elastic are made from our highly breathable vegan sheepskin, which has been used for many years for our famous shipping halter, show rug and girths. The robust outer shell consists of a lightweight yet strong TPU shell, with an additional bamboo insert in the tendon area for optimal protection against any impacts and the penetration of sharp objects and is also antibacterial.
Shape and Size
Thanks to the anatomically shaped design, the tendon boots fit excellently around the horse's leg to provide maximum comfort and protection. This allows the horse maximum freedom of movement and jumping.
The soft and flexible rubber insert below the fetlock joint also offers the horse improved comfort of movement. The tendon boots are available in sizes S, M and L.
Care instructions
The tendon boots are machine washable at 30°C (no tumble dryer). We always recommend using a washing bag to prevent scratches and damage caused by spinning in the machine.
With our tendon boot cleaner, specially developed for TPU tendon boots, you can easily give the tendon boots the finishing touch to make them look like new.
