The heavy fleece material used for the square rug dries quickly and wicks moisture to the outside of the rug. There, sweat and moisture evaporate quickly. Even in winter, your horse dries in 5 minutes and does not catch a cold. The polyester fabric looks like wool, but unlike wool, shavings are easily brushed off the rug.
