How does the Amigo® AmECO 12 Plus protect our environment?

Billions of plastic bottles are disposed of in landfills and oceans every year, polluting the earth. We align our sustainability goals by giving this consumer waste a second life and offering a sustainable horse blanket made from rPET.

rPET stands for recycled polyethylene terephthalate, or recycled PET. PET is a material mainly used for making plastic bottles and packaging. Discarded plastic bottles are collected and recycled, creating rPET material. In 2021, we aim to recycle, process and reuse over 1 million plastic bottles.

Furthermore, the production of rPET fabrics uses less water and chemicals, and produces less CO2, compared to conventional polyester.

We are delighted that our Amigo AmECO 12 Plus Turnout is among the winners of the SPOGA Top Innovations 2021 Award. 

Six interdisciplinary judges nominated the 30 most innovative products with the title PROOF OF INNOVATION. These included new solutions in various categories, such as safety, ergonomics and health for horse and rider, digitalization, and concepts for sustainable production. Of these 30 nominees, only five products were chosen as winners, and one of them is our new Amigo AmECO 12 Plus Turnout. We are very pleased about this award.
