HAYGAIN 2000
The duration of hay steaming depends on the type of hay, hay density, and ambient temperature. On average, this is between 50 and 60 minutes. The HAYGAIN HG-2000 has a capacity of over 45 kilograms of hay and is therefore intended for use in larger operations.
The HAYGAIN hay steamer has an extremely robust construction, making it perfectly suited for the demands of installation in barns and stables. In contrast to older models, this hay steamer has a more modern design, preventing injury to humans and animals. The robust, flat shape of the lid makes it easier to open and close and allows for significantly better handling, as well as easier filling and unloading.
Construction of the HG-2000
The HAYGAIN HG-2000 hay steamer features a robust, professional 2.9 KW boiler that operates on 240 V, making it suitable for intensive daily use. The water heater is equipped with a thermostat and a secured brass hose fitting. In general, all fasteners of the hay steamer are made of high-quality and durable stainless steel or brass.

The Problem:
More than 1 in 6 horses suffer from respiratory problems, which reduces performance. 80% of horses, who spend part of the day in stables, suffer from respiratory diseases. Allergens such as mold spores found in hay lead to respiratory diseases like RAO/COPD + IAD/SAD. These spores can also be detrimental to humans and frequently lead to hay fever and, in severe cases, farmer's lung. Other methods of treating hay may solve the dust problem but do not improve the hygienic quality of the hay. Soaking hay degrades its nutritional value and shelf life.
The Solution:
It has been scientifically proven repeatedly that the HAYGAIN hay steamer can eliminate harmful mold spores and bacteria. Microbiological test results with HAYGAIN
HAYGAIN hay steamers have been extensively researched and tested at the Royal Agricultural College, Cirencester. The Irish Equine College has tested HAYGAIN with hay infested with the mold genus Aspergillus - the most common fungal pathogen in hay - and has confirmed the effectiveness of HAYGAIN in eliminating these spores. Ongoing international projects will continue to drive research and development in the future.
