Product description

Helmut Riedler

The book: "Introduction to Show Jumping - Basic Knowledge, Standards, and Explanations" deals with one of the most fascinating sports of all. The harmony between rider and horse, the technique, the speed, and the excitement during the ride captivate participants and audiences alike. This is precisely why show jumping is probably the most popular of all equestrian sports. However, learning this sport involves considerable training and time. Riding talent and courage, as well as the right horse, must also be present. Since certain skills are required of the rider when approaching, jumping over, and landing after the obstacle, a sound basic riding education is a prerequisite. Creating the right conditions will help beginners achieve their goals faster, safer, and more successfully. Mistakes made at the beginning of training can very rarely be undone; some mistakes only become apparent later and make it impossible to advance to higher classes in show jumping. This book deals with the introduction to this fascinating world, provides suggestions on how to avoid mistakes at the beginning of training for show jumpers as much as possible, and how to lay the foundation for beginners to successfully complete show jumping courses.

The Author: Helmut Riedler, born in 1961, lives in Steyr, Upper Austria, and is a state-certified riding instructor, course designer, and show jumping judge in Austria. He also breeds sport horses together with his family and the Proyer family, who have been friends for many years. These horses are currently successfully ridden by his daughters Daniela and Verena in show jumping competitions up to class S and dressage competitions up to class M. "A correct basic riding education is a prerequisite for success," says Riedler. That's why he wrote this book.
