Product description
To support digestion in horses on sandy pastures
For prevention in horses on sandy pastures: 2 x 50 g/day - 10 days per month. If sand is detected in the manure: 2 x 100 g/day for 10 days.
Psyllium (flea seeds) is a commonly used remedy for the prevention and treatment of sand impaction. However, various studies have yielded different results. More recent studies* show that a combination of mineral oils and psyllium removes more sand from the intestine and that psyllium in combination with essential oils has a stronger effect than each of these substances alone. In addition to psyllium, Cavalor PasSand contains essential oils and probiotics, which quickly remove sand from the horses' digestive system.
* scientific studies: 1.Kendall et al.; Radiographic parameters for diagnosing sand colic in horses. Acta Veterinaria Scandinavica 2008; 50:17 2. Evacuation of sand from the equine intestine with mineral oil, with and without psyllium. Journal of Animal Physiology and Animal Nutrition (Berl), Feb. 2008, 92 (1), 86-91
